by Katherine Harnest, Vice President- Raptor Center of Tampa Bay

The Raptor Center of Tampa Bay is thrilled to bring the joy and excitement of nature to you with its Magical Bird Bus. This unique rolling education center will bring the wonders of wildlife to schools, churches, birthday parties and other events and celebrations throughout the year. Passengers will include live animal ambassadors and conservation experiences, such as programs, fun learning games, environmental puppet shows and animal and bird books.

The attention to environmental education and conservation is critical. Their puppet show, called “We Can Stop This” focuses on the planet’s current 6th mass extinction, causes and solutions, in a fun and interactive way using native wildlife puppets to tell their stories. The bus is being hand-painted by well- known local artist Terry Klaaren and will showcase some of Florida’s native wildlife species.

The Raptor Center will have local events where you can watch the artist paint and transform the exterior of the bus. The interior of the bus will be remodeled to accommodate the needs of the animals and educational materials.

Nancy Murrah, President of the Raptor Center and the brains behind this project says “We have one mission… to change the planet one child at a time.” And you know what? They might do just that!

If you are interested in learning more, booking, or becoming a sponsor Please call, text or email Nancy at: 813-205-1851 or email her.
