The Lettuce Lake Native Plant Garden is getting an upgrade!

Tia Silvasy, UF/IFAS Extension agent, wrote a grant application to improve the garden outside the Joel E. Jackson Nature Center at Lettuce Lake. The Florida Wildflower Foundation donated over $600 to buy new flowering plants and shrubs for the garden, which is a joint project of Tampa Audubon, Suncoast Chapter of Florida Native Plant Society and Hillsborough County.

The planting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 28, 8 am to 11 am. Please volunteer a few hours of your time to help if you can. The more shovels available, the faster the work!

Contact Tina Patterson, mablepatterson@hotmail.com or call or text (305) 298-6381 (leave name and message) for more information or to volunteer.
