It was a very cool and breezy day on the Flatwoods Park Bluebird Trail today and we have a total of 22 nests (15 BB, 6 CC, 1 TM), with a total of 24 eggs (9 BB, 10 CC, 5 TM). See Attached spreadsheet for details. I've also attached pictures of the 5 chickadee eggs in box F3 and the 2 bluebird eggs in box F17.
Other than bluebirds, chickadees, and a titmouse, we saw a wild turkey and flocks of white ibis flying over. We also saw Thistles (Cirsium horridulum) beginning to bloom, which are favorite flowers of butterflies and bees, and lots of Southern Fleabane (Erigeron quercifolius), pictures attached. I've also attached a picture of an unusual looking insect that was on one of the boxes. Anyone know what it is?
