Birds of MacDill Air Force Base

MacDill Air Force Base is the home, wintering ground, and migration stop for over 235 species of birds. We will discuss the different species that call the base home and the many different habitats that make the installation so rich in bird life.


Eric Plage has always been fascinated with birds and birding since picking up the passion at the age of 7. He is the Natural Resource Manager at MacDill AFB. An avid birder in the Tampa Bay Area for over 15 years, he is always looking for the next birding adventure!
