Itinerary
Friday, January 9, 2026: Welcome and Sunset Eco Cruise
The trip begins with a group meeting in Naples at 3 PM. Participants will embark on a two-hour sunset Eco Cruise of Rookery Bay, providing a unique opportunity to observe local wildlife and enjoy picturesque views as the sun sets over the bay.
Saturday, January 10, 2026: Birding at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary
The group will gather at 8 AM at Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. The day will be dedicated to birding along the sanctuary’s boardwalks and trails. In addition to the regular birding activities, participants will have access to a special guided walk through the sanctuary’s backcountry, offering further chances to spot rare and remarkable birds. The afternoon will be spent birding at the nearby Crew Bird Rookery, expanding the variety of habitats and bird species encountered.
Sunday, January 11, 2026: Wildlife Drive at Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge
On Sunday, the group will depart Naples early and travel to Sanibel Island to experience the wildlife drive at the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge.
Trip Details
· Price: $90 per person. This fee includes the Eco Cruise, Corkscrew Backcountry tour, and entry to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.
· Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge: This portion of the trip is optional and has an additional cost of $10 per car.
· Lodging: Accommodations are available near Pine Ridge Road and I-75 in Naples. Participants should plan to book two nights.
