Tampa Audubon Society is a key sponsor of the Florida Birding and Nature Festival again this year. The Festival will be at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Suncoast Youth Conservation Center on Dickman Road in Apollo Beach Oct. 17-20.
Field trips are scheduled every day, and the Nature Expo on Friday and Saturday only.
Keynote talks are:
• Oct. 18 (Friday) Clay Henderson, former President of the Florida Audubon Society and renowned conservationist and author
• Oct. 19 (Saturday) Tim Laman, National Geographic bird and wildlife photographer,
A special bird show by the well-known Earth Quest staff will feature live flying birds at the Nature Expo on Saturday.
Over 20 field trips to premier habitats in the six-county region will be led by land managers and bird and wildlife experts. Seminars about birds, turtles, butterflies, sharks and other wildlife will be Friday and Saturday at the Youth Conservation Center.
The Nature Expo will feature more than 40 nature-related booths with opportunities to purchase nature art, binoculars and other optics, native plants and nature-related merchandise. Many booths will feature regional agency and non-profit conservation group activities.
