PHOTOS - WILD TURKEY
The Wild Turkey, indigenous to North America, is one of our largest birds. Wild Turkeys roam about in small flocks in open woods with fields or clearings, and roost at night in trees. In the spring toms strut and gobble noisily to win favor of hens. After each male has collected his harem, the flock separates to find nesting sites on high ground. Wild Turkeys are strong fliers but never fly long distances and do not migrate.
